Thiago Braun
Project manager and attorney-at-law
I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, studied law and argued cases in court before technology caught up with me. What first seemed like a detour was in reality an investment: every legal file, every contract negotiation, every court appearance taught me how to cut through complexity, name risks clearly and communicate with precision under pressure.
Today I live with my family in Lower Saxony, work at a leading German bank and guide organisations through their most complex IT transformations.
What drives me is the conviction that the best projects are not won through methodologies but through people who think precisely, communicate clearly and take responsibility.
Education as a guiding thread
My educational path is not a straight one. It is deliberately interdisciplinary and reflects precisely the work I do today.
It begins in law: LLB at Universidade Candido Mendes (2002 to 2007), followed by specialisations in civil procedure law (PUC-Rio), IT law (FGV) and tax law (IBET). The legal foundation of precise thinking, risk identification and contract design remains the core of my work to this day.
In parallel came the step into technology: a degree in systems analysis and software development alongside a specialisation in corporate governance of information technology, both at Universidade Católica de Brasília (2013 to 2015). I did not merely read about IT projects. I wrote code, analysed system architectures and understood how software is built. Complemented by university courses in Java, mobile cloud computing with Android and computer science with Python, the technical depth is not a claim but a verifiable fact.
The European and business law dimension was completed with a Master of Laws and Master of Business Law at Freie Universität Berlin (2016 to 2017), focusing on German and European commercial law.
The result: I speak the language of lawyers, technicians and managers. Not because I claim to, but because I was trained in all three worlds.
