Onboard power supply and technical validation, commercial vehicles

Context

Multi-year support project for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the field of onboard power supply and technical validation, delivered by Capgemini Engineering. The project covered project management support, defect and issue tracking and coordination with external suppliers, under a framework contract with a five-year term.

Initial situation

The department needed experienced external support for operational project steering in the BTV environment, with a focus on structured issue management, supplier synchronisation and support for internal alignment rounds. Continuity over several years and integration into the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles supply chain placed particular demands on reliability and technical understanding.

My role

As the responsible Engagement Manager I took on project steering and governance, coordinated ongoing alignment with Volkswagen-internal contacts and external suppliers, and ensured continuous delivery throughout the contract term. Client satisfaction improved measurably, with an OTACE rating of 4.18 out of 5 in Q1 2024.

Approach

Structured project support focused on issue tracking through KPM and OPL, regular supplier synchronisation and support for internal alignment rounds. Flexible resource deployment within the framework contract, adapted to the department's varying demand.

Outcome

Stable multi-year delivery within the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ecosystem. Measurable increase in client satisfaction compared with previous years. OTACE rating in Q1 2024 of 4.18 out of 5. Framework contract over five years with a value of up to approximately €9 million.
